The mine hotel was built in a neo-Gothic style in 1903 and provides the centre point of the "Zeche Bonifacius“ monument.

This extraordinary building offers a 16-metre high, 170 m2 cathedral style hall around which the rooms are grouped: a unique setting for meetings and special events.

In addition, the hotel offers "RevierRad" bicycle hire as well as a Hotel-KombiTicket (only on request), which entitles you to free public transport within the Rhine-Ruhr region ("VRR") for the duration of your stay. This ticket can be obtained at reception.

New: Our guests can use the training and sauna area in the "Essener Fitness Camp" free of charge (just 50 metres from the hotel).

We serve fresh regional cuisine without the aid of expensive gadgets, and classic dishes from a time when bourgeois dishes still stood for quality.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled or modified up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled or modified later, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 17.50 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in public areas and costs EUR 0.50 per hour.

Meal Plan: Buffet breakfast is not included and costs EUR 8.50 per person.
