Landhotel Schloss Buttenheim is a small and very individual B&B - hotel located in historical surroundings of Buttenheim, Franconia (Northern Bavaria). Buttenheim is the birth place of Levi Strauss.

The historical house in which the hotel is located was originally built in 1760. It was turned into a hotel after complete renovation in 1990. The hotel is situated on the courtyard opposite to the Buttenheim Castle (1780) in a very quiet and beautiful area.

The hotel's personnel will serve you in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

We serve a rich breakfast buffet and are pleased to serve it in your room if requested.

For larger groups we offer a catering in our Weinstube which is in the castle.
Thanks to our location restaurants (local breweries) with regional cuisine can be reached within walking distance.

The upper Franconian city of Buttenheim is located 14km south of the city of Bamberg. A direct connection to the A73 highway provides for easy access to the area of Nuremberg/Erlangen in about 25 minutes.
The Franconian Switzerland (Ebermannstadt) can be reached via the highway as well, in only 15 minutes.
Thanks to its central location Buttenheim is an ideal starting point for business travelers to Upper and Middle Franconia and a central location for trips into this fantastic region.
Visit the city of Bamberg and its world heritage and, of course, Franconian Switzerland with its hiking and relaxation opportunities and shadowed beer gardens.

The city of Buttenheim itself is known for its local “brewery”-restaurants, Levi-Strauss Museum and the Riemenschneider-Altar (altar) in the Catholic church.

Buttenheim is connected to the Motorway exit (A 73, exit Buttenheim).

From the north:
Motorway A 70 to the motorway junction Bamberg. Here you take the A 73 direction 'Nürnberg' and exit Buttenheim.

From the west:
Motorway A 3 -> exit 'Pommersdelden', take the B 505 direction Bamberg -> exit 'Hirscheid' direction Hirscheid. At the intersection turn right and follow the direction 'Altendorf'. In Altendorf turn left (follow the signs!) to Buttenheim.

From the south:
At the motorway junction Fürth/Erlangen turn to the freeway A 73 -> exit Buttenheim. At the second intersection turn left to Buttenheim.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled or modified up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged EUR 15.00 per night and person for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 22.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless Internet Hotspot is available in the entire hotel and costs EUR 4.70 per 24 hours.
