There is free private parking for guests’ use and Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel. The impressive spa facilities include 8 spa treatment rooms, each of which is a peaceful and relaxing little place of sanctuary from the hectic world outside. Shire Hotels was the first UK hotel group to offer all non-smoking facilities. For those who would like to smoke, the hotel has made provisions outside the hotel, with shelter and protection from the elements for smokers providing an acceptable solution.

The hotel’s own on-site restaurant offers fine dining and an extensive menu, which changes regularly to reflect the finest, freshest produce available locally. The impressive dishes available include locally sourced, freshly caught seafood, as well as locally grown ingredients and vegetables. During the warmer months, guests can dine al fresco. From the middle of May, the restaurant moves outside and you can enjoy the warm sunshine and fresh air while sampling dishes from the hors d’oeuvres table and specialities from the grill.

There is also the Parson's Collar, the hotel’s very own Thwaites on-site country pub, as well as all-day dining in the lounge and bar.

Children's meals are available, but in order to preserve a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests the hotel asks that families with children aged less than 12 years dine in the restaurant prior to 20:00.

Children can either choose a meal from the children's Trekkers menu or they can order half portions from the à la carte menu and pay half price. We appreciate that children's appetites differ from day to day, so to make things as flexible as possible, your children can take one course from the Trekkers menu or the full 3 courses, with a drink included in both cases.

There is plenty to see and do in and around hotel, but should you wish to spread your wings and travel a little further afield, you could take a trip to see the New Forest's wild ponies or visit Portsmouth, the Historic Dockyard and the Spinnaker Tower. Alternatively, you could go to the races at Glorious Goodwood or take the ferry to the Isle of Wight for a day.

Just 10 miles (16 km) from the hotel, Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard encompasses a number of great attractions, including the Royal Navy Museum Interactive, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose. The nearby Gunwharf Quays development offers a unique blend of outlet shopping, leisure and entertainment in a stunning waterfront location.

Also within easy reach for a day trip is Beaulieu, the National Motor Museum. Few car museums in the world can match the unique collection of the world-renowned museum at Beaulieu.

The In-Tech Science Centre and Planetarium is a unique hands-on interactive science and technology centre with 100 exhibits to amuse the whole family.

Just a short drive from the hotel, Marwell Zoo has over 250 species of animals, including tigers, rhinoceroses, Meer cats, penguins and many more. The zoo also regularly organises family activities.

Check-In and Check-Out Information:
Guests can check-in from 14:00 onwards. If you are due to arrive earlier than this, please contact reception in advance in order to inform them of your estimated time of arrival. You can contact reception by telephone or via email, using the contact details supplied on your confirmation email. Late check-outs are available on Sundays, subject to availability.

Children:
Children no older than 4 years can have breakfast for free. Children aged 4 to 10 years old can have breakfast for GBP 4 per child, per night. Children aged 11 to 16 years old can have breakfast for GBP 8 per child, per night. Other meals will be charged as taken.

Alternatively, children can stay in their own room (subject to availability) for GBP 40 per child, per night (including bed and breakfast). This price is based on a minimum of 2 children no older than 16 years sharing a room. Other meals will be charged as taken.

Pets:
With the exception of working dogs for disabled people, the hotel does not accept pets.

Smoking Policy:
The hotel is non-smoking throughout. Please do not smoke in your room, as this will mean that the hotel will need to deep clean all the fabrics and furnishings after you depart and this will incur a charge of GBP 75.00.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 12:00 on the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
Up to two children under 16 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
