The resort of Baabe lies in the heart of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, on the border between the Mönchgut Peninsula and the so-called "Muttland" - the heart of the island. The centre of Baabe is some 200 metres from the hotel.

The town has remained relatively unaffected by tourism when compared to its neighbouring resorts. The traditional architectural style has been preserved throughout the area, and you can still watch fishermen at work from the beach.
