The bed and breakfast is a 15-minute walk from Nene Park/ Ferry Meadows Country Park; 12 miles (19.3 km) from Stamford; and 20 miles (32.1 km) from Rutland Water.

Many attractions can be found within 10 miles (16 km) of Southgate Bed and Breakfast. These include: Elton Hall, Longthorpe Tonge, Peterborough Shopping Mall, Nene Valley railway, Redshanks Spinney, Waterfowl World, Tallington Lakes Leisure Park and Hamerton Wildlife Centre.

There are many other activities in the surrounding area, including golf, fishing, boat rental, horse-riding, ice skating, scuba diving and windsurfing. Bicycles can be rented on-site and at a site 5 miles (8 km) away.

By Car
From the A1 Southbound:
- Leave the A1 at junction 17, then at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Southgate Way (signposted Orton Southgate).
- Bear right onto Southgate Way.
- At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Newcombe Way. Bear left onto Manasty Road.
- At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Newcombe Way.
- Turn left onto Dunblane Drive
- Turn left onto Rosyth Avenue and follow the road to the very bottom.
- At the very bottom, go down a slip-road on the right-hand side.
- Southgate is the 1st house on the right. Drive straight onto the driveway.

From the A1 (M) Northbound:
- Leave the A1(M) at junction 17, then take the left-hand lane (signposted A605 N'hampton, Oundle).
- At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Southgate Way (signposted Orton Southgate).
- Bear right onto Southgate Way.
- At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Newcombe Way Bear left onto Manasty Road.
- Follow as above.

From the A14:
- Take the A605 and bypass Oundle and Elton.
- Join the A1 northbound at junction 17 A1 (M) at the signpost stating ‘A1 North bound – Stamford’.

By Public Transport
Peterborough coach and train stations are 5 miles (8 km) away. The B&B can arrange pick-up and drop-off from/to the station for an additional cost (on request via email or telephone).

By Air
Luton, Stansted and East Midlands airports are approximately 60 miles away (96.5 km).
