The best local dishes are offered in the dining room of the Parador de Zafra, such as caldereta de cordero (lamb stew), migas extremeñas (breadcrumbs), bacalao monacal (cod), zorongollo (tomato salad), cheesecake from La Serena, Iberian pork loin with Ibores cheese, and, of course, ham.

The Parador is in the town centre, next to the church of Santa Marina and Calle Sevilla. Zafra is between Sevilla and Mérida on the Silver Road, via the N- 630, 141 km. from Sevilla and 60 km. from Mérida; and 73 km. from Badajoz by the N-432 Badajoz-Granada. Motorway from Madrid until 5 km. before arriving at Zafra.
