   Situated on the edge of Wernigerode’s Old Town and close to the railway station, this hotel stands within walking distance of the world-famous town hall, the castle and the marketplace. The newly renovated Hotel Altora takes you back to the days of the steam engine. Its comfortable rooms are housed within connected, timber-framed buildings and a recently constructed extension. The Altora’s rooms are bright and welcoming, and some include a balcony. A lift takes you comfortably to all floors, and some rooms are suitable for the mobility impaired. In addition to the listed facilities, all rooms include a cosmetic mirror and a safe which can accommodate a laptop. The majority of the rooms include extra-long beds (2.10 metres). Photos:
An extensive breakfast buffet is served from 07:00 to 10:30 each morning. The hotel’s bar and rustic restaurant, 1835, are open every day from 11:30 to 22:00. Hot food is served from 17:30 to 21:00, Monday to Saturday. From here, diners can enjoy direct views of the many nostalgic steam trains outside. Smokers can relax in the hotel’s cigar and whiskey lounge. In addition, the Hotel Altora offers a cosy room with fireplace and a wine bar. Upon request, the hotel staff can pick you up at the railway station. If you are travelling by car, you can use the hotel’s free parking facilities.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
