The Hotel Urku is a family-owned hotel located in a stunning, hundred-year-old organ factory. The old factory has been skilfully converted into a comfortable hotel and retains a unique atmosphere.

Modern conveniences and technology characterise this hotel situated within a historical setting.

The Hotel Urku is located in the centre of Kangasala, only a 20-minute drive from the centre of Tampere.
The distance to the Tampere airport is about 30 kilometres. The nearest bus stop is 100 meters away and the Kangasala Church is situated only 200 meters from the hotel.

A comprehensive hotel renovation carried out in 2004 increased the number of guest rooms to 32.

The individual and comfortable rooms, all of which are non-smoking, are located on three different floors.

All rooms have a broadband Internet connection.

The Restaurant Café Urku is easy to find. The 50 seater restaurant is located at street level near the hotel’s reception.

Groups as well as guests travelling individually can enjoy a delicious à la carte menu in the dining room. The menu features international and local cuisine, as well as seasonal specialities.

The hotel kitchen’s own pastry products can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee at the Restaurant Café Urku or in the popular beer garden, open during summer.

Hotel Urku is located in the heart of Kangasala, just 200 meters from the historical grey stone church of Kangasala and from the centre of the town.

You'll find all the local services such as shops, supermarkets, post office, banks, bus station and restaurants just a short walk away.

The nearest bus stop is just 100 meters away and the bus connection to Tampere city centre is frequent and reliable.

Some of the local attractions are two automobile museums, the Kangasala Museum of local history and Culture.

Two observation towers are located in the forests on the natural ridge formations typical of Kangasala, from which you can admire breathtaking views of the numerous Kangasala lakes.

Our reception desk is open until 22.00 and closed on Sundays.

Guests arriving later than 22:00 on Monday-Saturday or guests arriving on Sundays are required to contact the hotel prior to arrival.

Check-in after 22.00 or on Sunday is only possible upon request.
