The Masons Arms

A former coaching inn built about 200 years ago, the Masons Arms is 5 miles from Alnwick, and serves substantial home-cooked meals prepared with the very best local produce.

The Masons Arms is an ideal base for exploring the virtually undiscovered county of Northumberland. The converted stables provide superb en suite accommodation with extensive private car parking. Meals are served in the bar and the dining rooms.

The most recent addition to the main building is a suite with private sitting room for 2, 3 or 4 guests. Since December 2002, a new accommodation block has comprised 4 executive doubles and 2 executive suites.

Area informationTop
Northumberland boasts one of the most beautiful stretches of English coastline. The countryside encompasses heather moorland, isolated farmsteads, forests and valleys, and there are castles and battlefields which reflect Northumberland's turbulent past.

Water sport enthusiasts can enjoy the nearby facilities of Beadnell Bay and of course Kielder Water. Golfers, anglers (river fishers, sea fishing) and walkers will find themselves spoilt for choice. Birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts will appreciate the wide range of resident and migrant birds along the coast or at reserves at Newton, Hauxley and the Farne Islands. Arranged golf tours are available also.
