Druskininkai, the oldest and largest Lithuanian resort town, is situated 130 kilometres south of Vilnius and Kaunas, and 40 kilometres from Grodno on the right bank of the River Nemunas.

Druskininkai’s most valuable asset is its mineral water sources. The main curative factors in the resort are the mineral waters similar to those of the famous spa of Baden-Baden (Germany). The mud ranks among the best in Europe in terms of chemical composition. There is a wonderful microclimate. Druskininkai's curative mud - of peat origin - is a very effective cure for those with spine and joint problems.
