The town of Bansko is situated at the north eastern foot of Northern Pirin Mountain. It is 161 km from Sofia and 170 km from Plovdiv.

The seasonal snow cover stays from December to April; therefore this is one of the established and fastest growing winter centres on the Balkans. It has ski tracks with a total length of 32 km, chair lifts, ski tows offering wonderful ski services and snowboarding. The beautiful nature, the interesting crafts and historical monuments as well as the hospitality of the local population make this town such an attractive tourist destination.

Recommended excursions include Rila Monastery, Prodiv, Tsigov Chark and Batak.
