Beijing Sihe Courtyard Hotel
   Beijing Sihe Hotel is a Chinese traditional courtyard hotel in Beijing. The former residence is the famous Chinese artist Mei Lan Fang. It is just 10 minutes walking distance from WangFuJing, the travel and commercial centre of Beijing. The hotel design is based on the original Chinese historical construction for Si He Yuan, which used to be the home of ancient Chinese imperial royalty. It is the only hotel in Beijing which was built during the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. The spacious rooms share the beautiful inner and outer courtyard and patio with each other. They are decorated with antique furniture carved with the dragon and phoenix, the symbol of Chinese ancient nobility. This represents the natural elegance of the building. This is a typical and traditional Chinese building, yet unique and special, with a very spacious courtyard. All the doors and windows face the courtyard so that there is sufficient day lighting and ventilating in every room. Peaceful and private, you could have your own trees and flowers planted. Photos:
The construction of Si He Yuan is based on Chinese traditional culture. From the site, location, size, carving and material, everything follows the ideals of Feng Shui. It expresses people's pursuit of happiness, prosperity and pleasure. The dragons and phoenixes are carved on the doors. Auspicious words and phrases are found in the corridors, with lintels and couplets on columns and paintings and calligraphies in the rooms.
