Set amid Stodmarsh Reserve, this hotel is centrally located next to a picnic site and a nature reserve, providing an excellent base for walkers, fishers and cyclists.

Situated close to the cathedral city of Canterbury and the nearby coastal towns, the property is easily accessible from the ports and from the Channel Tunnel. You can visit many interesting places and attractions in the surrounding area.

The inn has 6 tastefully furnished, spacious bedrooms, including a family room. Originally a coaching house dating back to 1831, the inn took its name from a hand-drawn ferry which took people across the River Stour.

We have 6 superbly appointed, newly refurbished en suite rooms designed to help you relax and enjoy your stay. Each room is individual with a contemporary decor and Colonial furnishings. As well as having en suite bathrooms, all rooms offer the following facilities:

Enjoy a meal in our River Room Restaurant which boasts a fine view over the River Stour when the weather dictates, and warm yourself next to the real log fire. Choose from the main menu or from the ‘Chef’s Creations’ board which reflects the seasons and features locally sourced ingredients.

Sit back and enjoy a Sunday feast. Choose from a selection of seasonal starters, followed by a traditional roast lunch with a choice of 3 different meats. There is a fish dish and a vegetarian option. Finish with a homemade dessert containing all the fruits available in The Garden of England.

From the A2:
- Enter Boughton Under Blean.
- Branch left (signposted Canterbury), then merge onto the A2050 entering Canterbury.
- At the London Road roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Rheims Way - A2050.
- At St Peters roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Rheims Way - A290 (signposted Margate)
- At Wincheap roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Pin Hill - A28 (signposted Margate).
- At Riding Gate roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Upper Bridge Street - A28 (signposted Margate).
- At St George’s roundabout take the first exit onto Lower Bridge Street - A28 (signposted Margate, Ramsgate).
- At the Chaucer roundabout take the first exit onto Tourtel Road - A28 (signposted Margate).
- At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Sturry Road - A28
- At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Sturry Road - A28
- At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Sturry Road - A28
- Continue onto Mill Road (A28), entering Sturry.
- Continue over the level crossing (A28).
- Bear right (A28).
- Continue onto Island Road (A28). Enter Hersden and go past The Royal Oak pub (A28).
- Enter Upstreet.
- Turn right onto Grove Ferry Hill then onto Grove Ferry Road, and you have arrived.

By Train
The nearest train station is Sturry Railway Station.

By Coach
National Express coach 021 runs several times daily between Canterbury and London.

By Bus
Upstreet is easy to reach by bus from Canterbury (Route 8).
