The Quinta da Cova do Milho is situated in Santo António da Serra, Santa Cruz, about 10 minutes from the Santa Catarina airport. It was built around 1930 by the Farra family and then burned by the owners as a way of avoiding illegal occupation by others during the April 1974 revolution. Later on, in the year 1993, the Quinta was acquired by the Pontes family. It was in a completely abandoned state and has been rebuilt along the years. Photos:

Quinta da Cova do Milho offers a traditional small lunch buffet. There is an honesty bar in the common room.
By Car: From the Airport (10 minutes): - When you leave the airport, take the highway towards Funchal. - After a few metres, you will see a sign for Santo da Serra, telling you to go up the highway. - Then you have to continue for a few kilometres always following the signs for Santo da Serra. - As soon as you arrive at the top of the hill, you will see the golf course on your right. - Pass the golf course gate and then you have to take the 1st street on your left. - It’s a narrow street at 1st and it’s called Caminho do Poiso. - Finally, a few metres ahead you will see our wooden sign, Quinta da Cova do Milho.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, the first night will be charged. In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All children from 3 to 14 years are charged EUR 20.00 per night and person when using existing bedding. All older children or adults are charged 100 % of the room stay per night when using existing bedding. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. VAT and city/tourist taxes: 5 % VAT is included. Service charge is not applicable. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet: Wireless internet is available in public areas and is free of charge. Meal Plan: Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. Parking: Free private parking is possible on site. Pets: Pets are not allowed. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival. |
