With its picturesque Bavarian old town, array of museums, vibrant arts scene and famous Oktoberfest, Munich is one of the most exciting and varied cities in Europe. Set in the tranquil Old Botanical Garden close to the Stachus (a large square), all the exciting sights and attractions can be reached within a short walk or underground train ride. The main station can be reached in 10 minutes on foot and Franz-Josef-Strauss Airport can be reached by car within 40 minutes.

Close by are the Nymphenburg Palace (built for the Bavarian kings and boasting a splendid Baroque style), the 18th-century Asamkirche church, the delightful Marienplatz square and Munich's old city centre with its outdoor cafés and splendid neo-Gothic town hall. Also not to be missed are the Englischer Garten (Europe's largest park, which stretches for 3 miles along the River Isar), the National Theatre Opera House and, of course, the world famous biergarten and beer halls such as Hofbräuhaus.

From Munich Main Station “Hauptbahnhof”:
Leave the train station through the main entrance. Turn left and walk down the road. After 2 traffic lights you will already see The Charles Hotel on your right hand side. The Hotel entrance is facing the Old Botanical Garden. The journey from the main station to the Hotel takes about 5 minutes.

With local transportation from Franz-Joseph-Strauss Airport (MUC):
Follow the signs within the terminal to LOCAL RAILWAY STATION. Purchase a ticket EINZELFAHRT MÜNCHEN from one of the ticket machines. The S-Bahn (suburban train) line 1 or 8 goes directly to Munich city centre, to the main train station. Then follow directions above. The journey from the Airport to the hotel takes about 50 minutes (without waiting time).

Limousine (Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7), 3 passengers, or Van de Luxe, max. 5–7 passengers. The driver will meet the guest after the baggage claim area, holding a sign with the guest name. The price per transfer from and to Franz-Joseph-Strauss Airport, including pick-up from the arrival terminal will be 150 EUR per way. Cancellation policy is 24 hours prior the arrival time.
