Hakata Gion Yamagasa Festival : Held over two weeks at the beginning of July, this is an all-male festival announcing the coming of summer. The festival reaches its climax with a race between seven teams carrying huge floats known as "yamagasa".

By Plane From Fukuoka Airport with Fukuoka City Airport Line (250 yen) to Gion Station and walk to Hotel (total 15 minutes).
