The Snow Crystals Museum:
(15 minutes by car from JR Asahikawa Station)
A unique museum that takes you into the world of ice and snow. The "Ice Gallery" which displays various icicles is kept at 20 degrees (centigrade) below zero. Other attractions include snow crystals and dismond dusts all of which can be enjoyed even in the summertime.

Hokkaido Prefectural Museum of Asahikawa:

A quite museum located amidst the lush greenery of Tokiwa Park. Displays include various woodworks and special exhibitions of both local and international artists.

Yasushi Inoue Kinenkan (Memorial Museum):
(20 minutes by car from JR Asahikawa Station)
A memorial museum taking you through the life of the famous Asahikawa-born writer, Yasushi Inoue. Exihibits include original hand-written manuscripts, belongings and many others.

Nakahara Teijiro Memorial Asahikawa Museum of Sculpture:
(20 minutes by car from JR Asahikawa Station)
Displaying the works of the sculptor, Teijiro Nakahara, who was well-known for his close relationship with Asahikawa, and the winners of the Teijiro Nakahara Award. The chalky-white European-style building which was built in the Meiji Era has been designated an important cultural asset. Asahikawa Museum of Sculpture.

Miura Ayako Literature Museum:
(10 minutes by car from JR Asahikawa Station)
This museum opened in 1998 at the entrance of the sample forest consisting of four species of imported trees. It was the stage for Ayako Miura's famous novel, "Hyo-ten (Freezing point)". The museum conveys not only the story's charm but also the real face of Ayako Miura.

Asahikawa City Taisetsu Crystal Hall:

Taisetsu Crystal Hall prides itself in its superior acoustics and is a popular venue for classical concerts. It also holds several facilities which are used as convention halls or museums for local art.
