Built in 1879, this one-time doctor’s house and surgery retains its extra-wide doorways and authentic Victorian tiled hallway, with changes made to the building only to add comfort without sacrificing character. You will also have access to the swimming pool, gym, sauna and jacuzzi at a local private leisure club just a 20-minute walk away. Sparkling wine, champagne and flower arrangements can be added to your room as a delightful finishing touch. |

Braemount House is delighted to accept well-behaved children over the age of 10, provided that parents exercise control where necessary in order to maintain the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere for other guests. For the benefit and comfort of all visitors, the whole of the Braemount House is a designated non-smoking area.
Rooms at Braemount are individually designed and furnished to the highest standard. Please see individual room details for a complete list of facilities on offer. For those looking for something a little extra special, several beautiful four-poster rooms are available, including an impressive king-size room. For those less able, there is one ground floor bedroom. If you feel in need of pampering, you can also be provided with sparkling wine or champagne on ice, fresh flowers and chocolates (at an additional cost).
At the heart of the famous and spectacular Lake District, Braemount House offers travel guides that begin from the door via road or foot. If required, they can make reservations with one of the excellent local companies providing half or full-day mini coach trips around the Lakes, which pick-up and drop-off in front of the house. Attractions in the immediate vicinity include: Orrest Head (1.5 km / 0.9 miles) - a short walk up this hill off the top of High Street will lead you to Orrest Head, offering a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding lakes and hills. Lake Windermere (1.6 km / 1 mile) - the largest natural lake in England and an essential visit when exploring the region. Windermere Steamboats and Museum (2 km / 1.2 miles) - a unique collection of Lake Windermere's nautical heritage in a beautiful and tranquil lakeside setting, including Beatrix Potter's rowing boat and the oldest surviving mechanically propelled boat in the world.
A 2-night minimum stay is required at weekends, 3-nights minimum over bank holidays To ensure that someone is available to meet you on arrival, the hotel kindly requests that you ring or email 2-3 days prior to arrival to arrange an arrival time. Due to increased card charges a charge of 3% to all payments by credit cards (Visa/Mastercard etc) applies. There is no charge for debit cards (Maestro/Switch/Visa Debit/Solo). Please note: the hotel does not accept American Express.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: Children older than 10 years are welcome. Baby cots are not available. There is no capacity for extra beds in the room. Deposit Policy: 100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Service charge is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge. Meal Plan: Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. Parking: Free public parking is possible on site. Pets: Pets are not allowed. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival. |
