The Black Horse Inn is a traditional Olde World 17th Century Inn. Packed with charming features including original oak beams, open fires, and a beautiful courtyard area to soak up the sun in the summer months.

The Black Horse Inn is a family owned and run business. Jane Russell together with her husband Andrew bought the business in 1998 and Jane represents the third generation of the same family to own and run the business stretching back over 60 years.

Set in the quiet village of Clifton, The Black Horse Inn is easily accessible from all the main conurbations of West Yorkshire and is ideally situated half a mile from Junction 25 of the M62, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds, be away from it all and yet close to everything.

Our 21 en-suite bedrooms have been converted from old cottages and retain all the original character and yet have all the warmth and modern facilities expected today.

You will find the Black Horse Inn in the quiet village of Clifton, just a mile off J.25 of the M62 which makes us an an ideal base for touring the scenic beauty spots of Yorkshire. Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield are all less than 20 minutes away which makes The Black Horse a convenient centre for business travelers.

Two dining rooms offer fine-dining cuisine created by a highly qualified and talented team of chefs. All food appearing on the menu is freshly prepared on-site, including the bread and ice-cream. The hand-chopped chips are a local favourite.

For early diners there is a great offer between 17:30 and 18:30 (Monday to Friday): the ‘Credit Cruncher’ menu provides set-price 2 and 3-course menus.

Finish a meal with something from the range of great digestifs and liqueurs, which can be accompanied by a range of freshly ground coffees and petit fours.

The Black Horse Inn’s passion for great food is almost matched by its passion and curiosity for good wine; the current wine list boasts over 100 bins from all around the world. From time to time diners have been introduced to some of the world’s famous winemakers during the inn’s popular 'food and wine dinners'.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged GBP 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: Tax is included.

City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.

Meal Plan: Full English breakfast is included in the room rate.
