The recently constructed Hotel Alguer is in an ideal position near two of the main roads of Alghero, the beaches and via Don Minzoni. Just a few minutes from the International Airport Riviera del Corallo (Alghero-Fertilia), the most beautiful and famous sites along the coast and easy access to the roads that lead to other well known coastal or inland areas of Sardinia.

Just a short and relaxing walk along the Barcelona promenade brings you to the tourist port area and the old town, the buzzing center of the Algherese economy , where you can admire and choose from the variety of famous Algherese and Sardinian handcrafts. For those who enjoy a good walk, start from the port and along the bastions to the north promenade you will arrive at "Colle del Trò" (a hill) from where you can admire the splendid panorama of the gulf and the town.

Near the Hotel Alguer you will find two of the bigger commercial centers in Alghero, a bank, bars, restaurants, post office as well as 24hr bank links/ATMs. Within the hotel grounds parking facilities available for cars and motorbikes..

Patrons of Hotel Alguer may make use of local beach services at just 100 metres walk (sunbeds, umbrellas, shower, w.c., snack bar etc.) at a special rate. Beach facilities can be booked at time of making hotel reservation.

We have 12 rooms, 2 of which are structured to accommodate disabled guests, all with private bathrooms and 11 with balconies. A few rooms overlook the promontory of Capo Caccia and the Gulf of Alghero.

The furnishings are characterised by the variety of colour and detail. Please check availability for a full list of facilities.

In the garden area you can enjoy relaxing moments over a cool drink or try your hand at a game of table tennis or pool.

Alghero is situated in the northwest of Sardinia in a natural bay overlooked by Capo Caccia promontory. Founded at the end of the 12th century by the Genoese Doria family, it was a small military defence post, and because of its strategic position for sea routes to the east and the presence of large quantities of coral (red gold) it was conquered by the Catalan troops led by King Peter IV of Aragon in 1355.

From that moment on Alghero became an enclave in Sardinia, from where the local residents were kicked out and replaced exclusively by Catalans. Today the city still reflects the Catalan influence which is still present especially in the language spoken by the local people of Alghero.

Most of the old town was built between the 14th and 15th centuries. The Gothic-Catalan architecture can still be seen today at San Francesco church and some of the older houses of the noble families, Columbano, d'Albis, Guillot and Machin, which are still enclosed by the city walls.

In successive years the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the church of San Michele and the 19th century noble residences overlooking Piazza Civica were built. A short drive outside the town you can visit important archaeological sites such as Palmavera Nuragic Village, Necropoli of Anghelu Ruju and also the beautiful beaches of Le Bombarde and Lazaretto as well as Grotte di Nettuno.

The Hotel Alguer is in a unique position as it is so close to San Giovanni beach with its beautiful white sand and crystal clear sea and also the new Barcelona promenade
(or sometimes called Busquet after the architect). A five minutes walk will bring you to the heart of the historical center of the old town.

From airport
On leaving the airport area turn right and at the first junction turn left. After 2 km. approx.
Turn right and at the traffic lights turn left and go straight which will lead to Via Don Minzoni.
After the third set of traffic lights take the first right into Via Pais, where you will see the Hotel Alguer on the corner of Via De Giorgio.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled or modified up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
One child under 4 years stays free of charge in a baby cot.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.

VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.

Meal Plan: Breakfast is included in the room rate.

Parking: Free public parking is possible on site (reservation is needed).
