The hotels offers 82 quiet and cosy rooms. All rooms are decorated in the typical northern style: bright and warm colours with light wood panels. In front of the hotel and in the garden green-white wicker beach chairs invite to relax and enjoy the sun. Our 4 comfortable apartments with kitchenette are the perfect "home away from home" for our long-term-guests.
Non-smoking rooms, rooms accessible for handicapped people and shared rooms are available upon request.

Take the motorway a7 / a210 / a215 to "Kiel-West" and get off at the exit "Kiel-Mettenhof". Turn right at the first light, then follow the signs for "hasseldieksdamm".
At the second light turn right onto martenshofweg, hotel birke is located directly at your left hand side.

From Kiel train station
kiel central station (6 KM).
Take bus number 91 or 31 to "Mettenhof". Get off at bus station "waldesruh". Hotel Birke is right across the street.
You can also take a taxi, the ride takes you approximately 10 minutes.

From the airport "Kiel-Holtenau"
from the airport it is just a 15-Minute drive to hotel birke.

From the airport "Hamburg-Fuhlbüttel"
distance: 80 KM.
Airport-Shuttle "kielius" to Kiel central station: daily 17 times (cost: appr. EUR 14,00 per person)

Please note that the reception is staffed only until 16.00 on Christmas Eve (24 December 2008). Please inform the hotel if you intend to arrive later.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 80 percent of the first night will be charged.

Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
